We go to great lengths to keep your information safe! You’ll notice that we never ask for sensitive information like social security numbers or home addresses. We don’t show last names or email addresses on the public site and all credit card payment processing is done through a secured third party that uses state of the art security and privacy technology. If you have any concerns about the way we protect your information, please send us a note; we’d be happy to have a conversation.
We are currently finalizing the ScholarFlip application and are taking signups for Beta users. Use our form above to sign up for the Beta and we will email you when you can log in and create your profile.
This part’s easy. Once the site is live, you will scroll to the bottom of the student profile you want to fund and click the “Fund this student” button. You’ll be taken through the steps to support that student.
Yes! Once the site is live you have a donor dashboard that allows you to track donations you've made.
Unfortunately donations are not tax deductible at this time. We will continue to explore options for tax deductions and will post any updates here as they become available.
Your credit card will be charged for the amount you specify until immediately and then held in escrow (a holding account not accessible by the student) until the student matriculates (starts school). Once we know FOR SURE where they’re going, We will transfer the funds from escrow to the students Bursar account, minus the scholarFLIP processing fee of 5% plus the normal credit card fees (typically 2-2.9%).
We NEVER release funds directly to students. Instead, we only disburse money to the institution of matriculation for any ScholarFlip fundee. That means we don’t give them the money they raise until they commit to a school and have an account with that school’s Bursar.
Once you’ve committed to a school, you will need to fill out the ScholarFlip disbursement form. You will need your personal information, the link to your profile, and your school account number. We will contact your school, verify enrollment, and then work with the school to ensure funds are credited directly to your account.
Privacy is a primary concern for ScholarFlip. While we have plans to facilitate this kind of interaction in the future, we currently do not allow funders to contact students directly. Likewise, we do not let students contact funders directly. We do provide students the opportunity to thank their funders with a personal note, but these are managed through the platform and do not allow students to see funders’ personal information.
